Celtic Flower Knot Ornament

Suggested retail $4

This chart is available from your local counted cross stitch store. Below are ideas on how to finish your piece.

To mount stitched version on fabric: I used Needle Art Peel and Stick Mounting Board for Textile Art

On both pieces I made my own cording as a hanger. To make cording, I used DMC 701 and DMC 326. Cut each about three times the length that you want the hanger to be. Have someone else (husbands are useful for this) hold one end and twist in one direction until it kinks and tries to fold in on itself. Then fold in half, smooth and secure the ends so it doesn't unravel.

  • 40 count silk mesh (I got mine from Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, California)
  • Work with one thread over one hole
  • Cut slightly less than 1 inch square from Savage acid free cardboard
  • Use acid free jewelry glue
  • Findings from Michael's

This one I stitched on 14 ct Stardust Aida, Gold Dust, by DMC. Then I sewed strips around the finished piece and finished it according to instructions then finished the bag using instructions from www.cluckclucksew.com/2009/10/easy-treattote-bag-tutorial.html.
