Celtic Triangle Ornament

This chart is available from your local counted cross stitch store. In the chart there are two different ways to stitch this, one using beads and one with just cross stitching. Below are ideas on how to finish your piece.

To mount stitched version on fabric: I used Needle Art Peel and Stick Mounting Board for Textile Art

The Counted Cross Stitched version

  • 00367 Garnet Seed Beads from Mill Hill
  • 12272 Frosted Pink Heart Beads, Glass Treasures from Mill Hill
  • Two Fleur de lis beads I found out of my ancient and wonderful bead box

Beading order: 4 seeds, heart, 4 seeds, fleur, as many seeds as you would like for desired length, then reverse order.

For the Stitched and Beaded version

I made my own cording for this one. To make cording, cut two lengths of DMC 814, about three times as long as the hanger you want. Have someone hold the other end, (husbands are good for this) and twist in one direction until it kinks and tries to fold in on itself. Then fold, smooth and secure the ends.

The little heart in the bottom middle is a Mill Hill Crystal Treasure, green crystal, # 13039.

The version stitched on green: 14 ct Charles Craft Hunter Green Aida, Red Cording and Red 1/4" satin bow
